ALBA – VietCycle meets with President of Hanoi Tran Sy Thanh

Hanoi is ready to create all conditions for investors in the field of sustainable waste treatment

On the afternoon of March 1, at Hanoi People’s Committee: Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh received Dr. Axel Schweitzer, Chairman of ALBA Group Asia – branch of ALBA Group (Germany) in Asia, with partner VietCycle Joint Stock Company to visit and work.

At the exchange, Dr. Axel Schweitzer shared about experience in waste management and treatment with many large projects that have been operated in Asian countries such as China, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia. Since then, ALBA wishes to support Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular in this area.

Mr. Hoang Duc Vuong – Chairman of VietCycle shared some experiences in plastic waste recycling in the North of Vietnam. The company hopes that Hanoi will further expand on mechanisms and policies so that domestic and foreign partners can contribute to the garbage classification policy, garbage treatment plans, implementing large-scale projects in the capital, for the goal of a green – clean – beautiful city…

ALBA – VietCycle is an alliance that shares the same view and wishes to contribute to improving the quality of life of the people of the capital, as well as the development goal of Hanoi city on effective waste treatment, smart city construction. ALBA – VietCycle expects that it can receive support and facilitate from the city for potential cooperation plans in the Capital area.

Before the proposed contents, Chairman of the City People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh said that with a population of 10 million, Hanoi has a large amount of waste, including very large plastic waste. However, with the current status of the operation of the waste treatment plants and projects in Hanoi, which have not met all the needs, it is necessary to review and study more carefully about the volume and composition of waste, user culture and even collection block.

In that spirit, Hanoi City welcomes, and at the same time, says it will be ready to create all conditions for related projects, and committed to actively support partners, investors with experience, technological capacity and economic potential to invest in this field.

Reaching general consensus, ALBA Group Asia, VietCycle and relevant departments, departments and agencies connected to synthesize information about the city’s needs and current situation then research potential cooperation methods in the future.
