Honoring the Green Warriors & the 5-Year Closing Ceremony of the Plastic Reborn Project

📍 Hanoi, October 15, 2025

VietCycle and Unilever Vietnam successfully held the “Honoring the Green Warriors & the 5-Year Closing Ceremony of the Plastic Reborn Project.”

Under the theme “From Invisible to Infinite,” the event was not only a tribute to our Green Warriors but also a heartfelt moment to look back on the powerful transformations it has brought to people, communities, and the environment 🌱

👥 The ceremony proudly welcomed:

Ms. Nguyễn Thị Minh Hương – Vice President of the Vietnam Women’s Union

Mr. Hồ Kiên Trung – Deputy Director General, Department of Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Đình Thọ – Deputy Director, Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment

Representatives from UNDP, the Vietnam Recycled Plastics Association, partners, media, and national television

Especially, nearly 600 Green Warriors representing 3,000 informal waste collectors across the XanhNét circular ecosystem ♻️

During the event, Mr. Hồ Kiên Trung remarked:

“The success of the project is not only reflected in numbers, but in the transformation of communities. Through this initiative, waste is no longer invisible — it has been reborn as a valuable resource for the nation.”

Ms. Nguyễn Thị Minh Hương (Vietnam Women’s Union) shared:

“We highly appreciate the efforts of Unilever and VietCycle. The project places people — especially women waste collectors — at its core. It is a truly humane and sustainable approach.”

Alongside that, the Fireside Chat featuring Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Đình Thọ, Dr. Nguyễn Thái Huyền (UNDP), Ms. Lê Thị Hồng Nhi – Deputy General Director of Communications, External Affairs & Sustainable Business at Unilever Vietnam, Mr. Hoàng Đức Vượng (VietCycle), and Ms. Nguyễn Nhật Hoài (National Plastic Action Partnership – NPAP) as the moderator, brought deep insights into the 5-year journey, valuable lessons learned, and future directions for scaling up the model.

💚 The most touching highlight of the ceremony was the heartfelt performance and sharing session from the Green Warriors themselves. They confidently told their moving stories and performed graceful dances they had diligently practiced after long working days. Moreover, over 200 handwritten letters submitted to the contest “To Those Who Love Green” filled the hall with warmth, sincerity, and humanity.

🌿 Five years – a journey of faith and perseverance.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Unilever, government agencies, international organizations, trusted partners, and media outlets for accompanying the project.

Above all, we pay special tribute to more than 3,000 Green Warriors – the silent yet invaluable individuals who form the heart of the XanhNét circular ecosystem.

💚 The journey goes on – steadfastly moving forward for civilized Vietnam with waste!
