Proud to be green warriors
Having worked as a scrap collector for more than 30 years, Ms. Phu traveled more than 1,000 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi to attend VietCycle’s honoring ceremony. The keyword Ms. Phu mentioned when receiving support from VietCycle and attending the honoring ceremony was “confidence”, a value that seemed to have been buried during many years of being flooded with waste and scrap.
Ms. Phu said that the scrap profession often does not receive a sympathetic view, so she always has to live with low self-esteem and guilt. That inferiority complex affects the next generation, when many children do not dare to introduce their parents’ job of scrap metal when going to school.
“The enthusiasm of Mr. Vuong and VietCycle has helped us confidently say that our profession is a profession that benefits society and is a blessed profession,” Ms. Phu expressed.
Because, with practical contributions to the environment and society, with diligence, working hard to take care of their families, and taking care of the future of the next generation, people who scrap and scrap deserve to be recognized and honored.
Looking at the busy women smiling brightly when receiving flowers and wishes for women’s holidays, perhaps Mr. Vuong was the happiest person. However, there are still concerns, there is still a long way for Mr. Vuong, Ms. Nhi and the staff of VietCycle and Unilever Vietnam to realize the goal of “formalizing” the scrap and waste force.
“We are building a new concept, completely changing society’s view of junk and waste craft. We call them the true meaning of this profession, which is green warriors. From now on, let’s call them green warriors,” VietCycle Chairman sent a message.
